The Bluebird radio control airplane kit includes everything you need to get going including a 2-channel radio, electronic speed controller, powerful single motor, NiMH battery and charger... Impressive for a lower price radio controlled plane kit but even more so because it also offers factory-assembled ease, high-quality construction, easy hand launch and is so forgiving that it can recover from most minor pilot errors all by itself. An advanced, 3-in-1 electronic speed control not only controls its single motor but but reserves power for safe landings when battery power gets low. The Bluebird features a V-tail design with bigger control surfaces than the standard T shape tail design. In addition to providing more authority in turns with the power on, the larger tail surfaces produce better turn performance with the power off too. The Bluebird shares the same clever design as the HX213 protecting the motor and prop from the usual places of impact in a crash situation.
Remote Island Review: As soon as you take the Bluebird out of the box you know it means business. It's super stable in the air as you would expect from a top wing model and it can fly by itself without any stick inputs from the controller. When prompted the Bluebird responds with powerful authority and it's performance and flight characteristic has made it a popular favourite with our testers. The V-Tail design allows the Bluebird to be lighter and produce less drag than a more conventional model plane, and with less air flowing of the control surfaces flight performance is likely to be less turbulent. In addition to this design the trim switches on the radio control unit can be used to adjust the tail centre of the ruddervators on the V-Tail and improve flight performance. The Bluebird comes with a detailed instruction manual and an accompanying demonstration CD with some useful tips. If you want to fly without an instructor the Bluebird is capable of flying all by itself whilst you familiarise yourself with the controls and directional movement of the model. The Bluebird is suited to large open spaces and offers an excellent flight time and performance. Highly recommended!
