Returns & Guarantee Policy
7 Day Cooling Off Period - If you are a consumer (a private person buying for their personal use) you have the right to cancel your purchase at any time within seven days of receipt for a refund of the purchase price paid. Buyers will be wholly responsible for the return of the goods and any associated costs of return. You must inform www.remote-island.co.uk in writing and return the products to us immediately in the same brand new saleable condition you received them in and at your own cost and risk. If you do not return goods within 14 days after you have informed us that you wish to cancel your order, your right to cancel will be revoked.

Faulty Items - Due to the nature of RC products and the ability for them to be damaged on first use only models with faults inherent at the time of manufacturing will be accepted as faulty under the returns policy. This policy specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect, and misuse. Goods received back incomplete or damaged due to accident, neglect or misuse will be returned to the customers at their own cost. We request that any manufacturing faults are reported immediately on receipt and no later than 7 days after this period.

Important Information - Customers are responsible for their own choice of product and the suitability for any particular purpose. If you are purchasing a RC Boat, RC Plane or RC Helicopter it is recommended that you read the user and preparation guides before first use. These can be accessed via the below links and our articles page. By purchasing our products you are agreeing to be able to operate these products correctly and safely. Correct usage and operation of the models includes pre-use mechanical and safety checks required to test that a model is functioning correctly BEFORE USE. The most basic pre-use mechanical and safety checks include the following.
* Motor / Servo Operation Check - Check the inputs from the transmitter match the expected control movements of the model.
* Range Check - Check the inputs from the transmitter match the expected control movements of the model from range i.e. 100m away.

* Visual Inspection - Visually inspect the model for any defects which would be detrimental to its performance eg. Have the wings been mounted correctly by yourself.

The user and preparation guides can be found here:

If you are unsure of how to perform any of the above checks, please contact us and we are more than happy to help. Please note by performing the above checks and continuing to use the model you are agreeing that you have received the model in a working and satisfactory condition. If a model does not pass the above checks and is not capable of correct use, DO NOT use the model and identify the manufacturing fault to ourselves where we will issue a returns authorisation code. Crashed and damaged items due to customer use will not be refunded or exchanged as reasonably crashed and damaged items cannot be returned to a manufacturer as faulty. This policy is in place to protect our customers and ensure they are able to identify any operational issues with a model.

Lithium Polymer (LiPo, Li-Poly) - If your purchase contains a LiPo battery you agree to understand the following: FIRE CAN BE CAUSED by: 'Overcharging' (wrong charger or charger setting, unbalanced battery load, charger fouled by poor power supply), charging a damaged cell or pack and short circuit (including crash damage). Cells and packs can be damaged by over discharging (running too flat and/or too hot, discharging an unbalanced battery load), short circuit and crash damage. Product warranty does not cover collateral damage. Due to the nature and use of this product there is no term warranty. Misuse, abuse incorrect charging and discharging and all other inappropriate use of this product is not covered under warranty and can cause FIRE!

1. Always charge on a surface that cannot catch fire easily, concrete, steel etc...Do not charge on carpet, paper or any other items that can catch fire easily!

2. Never over discharge your battery. What does this mean?

It means when you notice a power drop (when playing with your model), stop! Immediately!
It also means disconnect your battery from the helicopter, even if you switch off the helicopter or transmitter and you leave it connected it will still discharge really slowly. Really slowly for a day is a lot! If you over discharge and then charge again you may experience puffing. This is where the cells swell. If this happens you can never use the battery again. IF YOU CHARGE A PUFFED BATTERY EXPECT A FIRE!
3. Use the correct charger!
